Corrections and disputes
We aim to be accurate, and we correct mistakes openly. Anyone may ask us to correct a page — a member of the public, a journalist, or the official concerned. Every request is treated the same way, regardless of who sends it, and no payment or relationship changes the outcome.
What happens to a request
- You receive a reference code. Your contact details are never published.
- An editor triages the request. If it raises a credible question, the page is marked under dispute review while we investigate. Unreviewed requests do not change the page.
- We check the request against primary sources and the evidence you provide.
- The outcome is one of: a correction, a clarification or update, a retraction, or no change. Corrections, clarifications and retractions are published on the page with the date.
What we never do
- Silently edit published information. Every change after publication appears in the page history.
- Delete a published record to hide it. Retracted entries stay online with their retraction notice.
- Remove accurate, sourced information because an official dislikes it or offers payment.
